Lemon & Turmeric Shampoo
It would take more than this web page to list all of the benefits that turmeric is heralded to hold for body, skin and hair. Its anti-inflammatory properties are well-known, as are its natural antiseptic properties. It is claimed that turmeric might obstruct the inflammatory enzymes linked to psoriasis; it can also lower the levels of cytokines which stimulate cell inflammation and can lead to psoriasis. Certain studies also claim that the curcuminoids in turmeric can help prevent hair loss. It has been used for many years as a treatment for dandruff.
Lemons are rich in vitamin C, contain anti-fungal properties and help to stimulate regrowth from dormant hair follicles. The acidic nature of lemon juice helps to tighten the hair follicles, curbing hair fall, also to control the production of oil in your scalp and naturally "condition" your hair after using alkaline hair products such as shampoos.
It seemed only natural that I needed to combine lemon and turmeric in a shampoo. Using my popular Formula 42 Shampoo as a base and adding both lemon juice and zest as well as turmeric juice (extracted from the root) and powder, this mighty shampoo packs a frothy, cleansing and healing, punch.
With the delicious scent of lemon and ginger, this shampoo will leave your hair and scalp feeling fresh.
